这个select语句该怎么写好呢？

select avg(time) from (select * from record where type=0) where tip>978534912 and tip<978550783
我现在是想从第一个select搜到的结果中统计出time的平均值。
以上这个select语句是错误的，但应该能表达我想要的意思。
请问我该怎么写呢？望高手指点。
